The Association of Chinese American Physicians (ACAP) will hold a small health talk on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM in the basement meeting rooms A & B of the Flushing Library. The theme of this lecture is: Opposing Domestic Violence.

A family should be a haven of love and support. However, the reality is often disappointing, with the shadow of domestic violence still looming over some families, destroying this sanctuary that should exist. Our lecture, led by Dr. Li Lu, will delve deeply into the impact of domestic violence, teaching how to recognize and prevent such behavior, and how to offer support to those affected by domestic violence. At the same time, we will also provide practical advice and support resources. Only through education and the raising of awareness can we all enjoy an environment of respect and safety. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Dr. Li Lu graduated from Harbin Medical University in China in 1997. She was a resident of Ob/Gyn at Harbin Medical University as a Master degree clinic student from 09/1997 to 06/2000, and then she worked as attending physician there until 03/2001. Dr. Li Lu had her postdoctoral research fellow training in Cardiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center 2001-2004. Dr. Li Lu had her internship and residency of Internal Medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center from 2007 – 2010. After that, she had her fellowship of Allergy and Immunology at NorthShore University Hospital and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center NY from 07/2010 to 05/2011, and then she decided to work a primary care physician as her lifelong career. After two years and half of attending physician experience at Metro True Care Medical PC NY, Dr. Lu started herb private practice in both Brooklyn and Flushing communities in New York since 12/1/2013. Dr. Lu became one of the founders of Excelsior Integrated Medical Group on 10/2018, and now Dr. Lu is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician in Rendr Group since 1/1/2023.
